Next Ferry has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or location. This page lists everything the app does keep, why, and how to turn it off.

Counted, not tracked.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which screens they use, so we know whether the app is helping. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off, so this data is not used to target ads or build a profile of you. Google Analytics sets its own cookies; they are the only cookies on this site.
To opt out, use a browser or extension that blocks analytics, or Google’s opt-out add-on. The app works exactly the same without it.
Only what it takes to tap you on the shoulder.
When you ask for an alert, your browser gives us a push address: a long random string that lets us send that one browser a notification. We store it with the route, the departure time and the level you picked (80%, 90% or full). Nothing else. It is deleted as soon as the alert fires, the sailing leaves, or the day ends.
Cancel any alert from the route page, or turn off notifications for nextferry.ca in your browser or phone settings.
Remembered locally.
Your phone remembers which alerts you’ve set and which advisory banners you’ve closed, so the app doesn’t ask twice. This stays in your browser’s own storage and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Two services, both named.
The app runs on Vercel, which also stores pending alerts. Usage stats go to Google. Both may process data in the United States. We don’t sell or share anything with anyone else.
Sponsor links open the sponsor’s own website, which has its own privacy policy. Ferry data comes from bcferriesapi.ca; your phone never contacts it directly.
Ask, and we’ll answer.
Because we don’t know who you are, there is usually nothing we can tie back to you. Still, if you have a question, want something removed, or think we’ve got something wrong, write to ClientCare@leapxd.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. Next Ferry is run by Leap in Victoria, BC, and follows British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act.
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Not affiliated with BC Ferries; see About for how the app works.
